Let the journey to the moon begin.
KAHONE CONCEPT – “Amicably”
The sound of this new artist that we are going to present is incredibly eclectic, taking the best from the 70s to the 90s music eras and blending everything with a modern production. Ben Kahone, singer-songwriter based in Pittsburgh, is the mind behind the music project Kahone Concept, and his latest tune “Amicably” shows his incredible skills.
Ben is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, and that makes a lot of sense while listening to the track, the top-notch production and arrangement present a groovy bassline and some funky guitars with an incredible sound design that reminisces the 70s.
The acoustic guitar and trumpets, in the end, give that humanity and soul the tune that really opens up the mix and finally, the synths add a sparkling feeling of the 80s and 90s. That’s an incredible recipe for an amazing tune, plus the lyrics and theme on this one are extremely self-reflective on the human interaction, and we love when lyricism is not mundane, even in extremely catchy songs like this one.
COUPDEKAT – “Imaginary Girl”
Here we go with another incredible artist from our favorite city in the world, we are talking about London of course. She’s very young, very talented, and she just released a really cohesive and consistent EP. Ladies and gentlemen…and space travelers, we present you Coupdekat. This hyper pop music project was born from the eclectic mind of Kat Reilly, and she just released her first EP called “Imaginary Girl”.
This is not just a regular release like the others, we could consider this as a concept EP, where all the tracks have a substantial theme that connects the tracks together. Coupdekat is part of Gen. Z and it is pretty clear that the internet and this web era, in general, had a huge influence and impact on her and her songwriting.
Being young and living your life during lockdown with just your cellphone as a companion is indeed something we (older, but not too old people), never really experienced in ut teenage years, and this EP very well encapsulates kind of feeling.
This is a Hyper-pop release and a very catchy pop 8-tracks EP, but there’s more than just that. There’s definitely a lot of glitch-pop inspiration and a lo-fi acoustic track called nepobaby in the middle of the EP that we definitely loved. Best tracks that you must listen to? We’d say Love Online for sure and F.Y.E.O. with its Drum and Bass vibes.
JZZY – “After Effects”
Excited to introduce this incredible artist, singer, and songwriter based in Los Angeles, US, who’s releasing pop music since 2020: a warm welcome to the phenomenal JZZY!
She’s just 20 years old, but her musical skills wouldn’t say so as it sounds like she has years and years of experience! Her latest release “After Effects” left us speechless with its incredible sound, a pop/punk tune with trap elements that hits hard with its 808s, and the “out of this world” vocal melodies.
The tune starts the intro with some electric guitars, giving straight away that punk vibe with these nostalgic guitar riffs, followed by Jzzy’s voice where the tune starts breathing life with her magical timbre. The song follows with an instrumental punk chorus, opening right after with the trap elements where the song slightly changes sound, giving a completely whole new mood: amazing!
Don’t miss out on this masterpiece!
JAAYNS – “Call You Out”
Time to share some crazy vibes with JAYYNS, an incredible singer and songwriter from Leeds, UK.
She’s been in the music industry since 2017, releasing so far numerous singles and 3 EPs, Jayyns knows how to keep her listeners entertained with some amazing tunes that are pretty difficult to forget. Her latest release “Call you out” is honestly something phenomenal, with a dreamy vintage style and a sick sound design we can tell you that this masterpiece will leave you astonished.
The tune starts with a really cool pluck arpeggio, sustained by some filtered synth chords and accompanied by the stunning voice of Jayyns that add a unique vibe to the song.
The tune brings in minimal drums, extremely characteristic sound fxs, and some crisp vocoders during the second verse. This is an exceptionally original tune, rest assured you won’t find anything else close to this out there!
MIDNIGHT VILLAGE – “All You Gotta Know”
Thrilled to share this phenomenal band based in Los Angeles, UK, defined by an alt/pop sound with over 10 releases over the past 2 years, we give a huge welcome to the MIDNIGHT VILLAGE!
After listening to all of their releases, we can say that it’s pretty harmful assigning a categoric genre to these guys, we would say instead that their sound is a powerful mix of emotions and feelings that will accompany you during your daily routine, your car trip to the beach, your chilly evenings, let’s say literally anytime.
Their latest release will show you exactly what we trying to explain here, this is called “All You Gotta Know”: an upbeat and compelling production with groovy drums, vintage electronic elements, electric guitars, and captivating vocals that won’t let you stop moving from the moment it starts to the second it finishes. You really don’t want to miss this one out!
SILENT – “Trouble Maker”
Time to share an extremely unique project called SILENT. What we know so far of this artist is that it is a robot that makes music, and it’s sick! He describes himself as the robot from the future with the ability to translate your emotions through music. His first release is called “Trouble Maker”, it features some great female vocals and impressive sound quality.
The tune has a mellow/dark and nostalgic mood at times (during the pre-drop), with slappy basses and melodic elements, and definitely a “future” vibe which is very difficult to describe but you can feel it just listening to the song!
This is for sure the future sensation that will get you addicted and crave for more, we honestly can’t wait to see what else this robot is capable of!
Unfortunately, we have only a Spotify link here, but we’ll update it with his socials as soon as we know more about it!
IVY EYE – “On My Mind”
Get ready to get back to the 90s with the incredible vibes of IVY EYE!
This incredible duo from Portsmouth, UK, has already shaken the music industry with their incredible sound, with a total of 4 releases so far. Their latest one is called “On My Mind”, and as the title says, this tune just got stuck on my mind!!
This song is a masterpiece that will keep you entertained from the very first seconds with a “movie-style” intro, until the end with its groovy basslines, upbeat drums, vintage keys, and fabulous guitars, all of this garnished with a great dose of vocoders. The vocals perfectly sit the mix and add to the tune a unique touch thanks to the performance and the vocal timbre.
If you think you did dance enough for the night, don’t worry, this tune will make you move even if you are literally dying. Careful, extremely addictive sound!
LOCKYER BOYS – “LATKD”
LOCKYER BOYS is not just a normal boyband, this is a project created by 2 brothers (Will and Charlie Lockyer) with a passion for music and one main objective: to make people happy with their music. In the music industry with 2 releases in total, their latest release is the first of this 2022 (and hopefully not the last!) came out less than a month ago, bringing a nostalgic but positive mood to the table with powerful pop/retro sound!
The tune features an upbeat rhythm with punchy drums and groovy bass lines, with the addition of some 80s-style plucks.
The song has a very remarkable motif throughout the song, but the most outstanding is definitely the chorus that brings in these kids’ choirs making the tune extremely happy and enjoyable! For sure the right tune to boost your daily mood with a healthy intake of music happiness! Don’t miss out on the music video, link below!
HANNYTA – “Fluctuating”
Glad to host again here on SpaceSour the amazing singer and songwriter HANNYTA!
After being featured in one of our previous chapters, she’s back with another single, and also this time did not disappoint us!
The song is called “Fluctuating”, a dance/pop tune with nostalgic melodies and powerful melodic drops. The tune features bouncy basses and punchy drums, with few trance elements and stunning vocal lines, reminding us a bit of the style of the big Avicii at times.
Hannyta knows very well how to structure her lyrics and adjust them to the beat with wonderful melodies, with a perfect metric and a superb flow, proving herself her incredible songwriting skills with meaningful and reliable lyrics, definitely an artist with incredible potential just at the age of 17! Amazing work from here with this release, waiting for more!
AURELIA – “Wax” (Capshun Remix)
Aurelia is a New York producer, vocalist and visual artist also known as Gabriella Bavaro who just released her first single Wax. The single is an electro/dark pop tune with some intriguing vocal lines, which already show Aurelia’s peculiar style.
What we are presenting today is the remix made by Capshun, Dallas-based DJ and producer, which added a darker sound design to the track with a trippy drop with some mesmerizing vocal chops. The tune is more trap-based at times with some hard-sounding subs and 808 bass synths.
Capshun adds some techno/dubstep synth that makes the song more aggressive at times, but still keeps the catchiness and mysterious vibes of the original tune. This would sound amazing in an electronic music venue like the worldly famous “Fabric” here in London, and it’s indeed not really hard to imagine these two artists travel the globe and taking over the world with their sound.
ARIN – “Own Worst Enemy”
It is always exciting for us to introduce a music project that is based in London, and this one is pretty special. Arin, is a singer-songwriter based indeed in London, and his new anthemic pop tune is called “Own Worst Enemy”.
This tune is incredibly catchy and extremely radio-friendly, it would sound perfect after an Ed Sheeran tune, and we do hope that this stuff would hit all the major radios in the city. From the guitar riffs to the synth choice, everything is perfectly merged together in the mix.
This electro-pop song, even tho is extremely catchy, present a slightly melancholic melody, which perfectly stays in line with the lyrics. When we do all sorts of mistakes and we feel we are the only ones to blame when we feel we are our own worst enemy. It does hit hard.
A Lone Acacia – “Hemispheres”
Hemispheres is the debut single from A Lone Acacia. He is a songwriter, musician and producer based in Birmingham. This tune made as fly in a completely different landscape, he created an entire world, describing it through sound.
The song starts with a piano pattern that is going to accompany us through the whole song. Different elements are added when the song continues to grow, starting with the drum and then a rhythmic acoustic guitar that gives a whole new depth to the song.
The sound design is extremely cinematic and has a subtle epic tone, that still maintains the core emotional message of the song, which is mainly relaxing and chill. At least this is what we felt, comparing this to works of other great artists like Moby or Massive Attack. A Lone Acacia created a solid tune that has nothing to envy from other big artists.
Jordan Jones – “Flawless”
Jordan Jones is now part of the Space Sour family, we already covered his past single Stumble and we are extremely excited to show you his last single Flawless. Jordan Jones knows how to write an RnB song that still sounds modern and peculiar, something that not everyone is able to do.
We are already familiar with Jordan Jones’ productions and also this one is pretty Flawless, indeed that’s also the name of the song. The beat takes some RnB and pop elements and merges them with a Trap-ish drum and 808 bass, which makes the tune sound even more tri-dimensional.
Jordan presents this song as a Sunday vibes tune. Everyone has different feelings for this particular day, but if you let yourself slide into this tune, it’s going to make all your thoughts and problems go away, and just enjoy your Sunday, with Jordan’s soothing melody as the theme music for your day.
DJ G-STRING & TC5Official – “I Want You To Know”
This tune we are going to present to you is a collaboration between DJ G-Strings and TC5Official. These two incredible producers joined forces to make this new tune called “I want you to know”.
We already announced summer has finally arrived, and we can be happier than this because we can finally listen to some great house songs like this one, and imagine ourselves drinking a Pina Colada during an Ibiza Happy Hour Party next on the beach.
That’s an incredibly solid house tune like we’ve never listened to before. The vocals are extremely well produced and perfectly match and merge with the instrumentals. The Kick and snap set the right rhythm throughout the song, with the right equalization and effects which already makes you feel like you enjoy this tune during a live DJ set. Definitely one of the songs that will accompany has for our whole summer.
