Yutzi is an emerging band based in emerging Maryland, Baltimore. They recently released their single “Give Me The Blame”, a song that gave us the chills, the perfect background for a relaxing evening in the summer.
We imagined ourselves on the beach with the sun going down, with this folk-rock tune playing. The song has some folk vibes at its core that reminded us of earlier Jack Johnson tunes, the track definitely has a calming atmosphere due to the soothing vocal melody and vocalist’s timbre.
The trumpets keep evolving during the song, an important layer in the music production that gives so much more depth to the song and makes it stand out from other folk tunes. That’s a perfect tune for spring and we hope you gonna enjoy it as much as we did.

Drew Hunter – “Give It All Away” (feat. lostalongtheway)
Drew Hunter is a fresh emerging artist based in Denver, US. He just released his debut single “Give it All Away”, a tune that’s mainly pop at its core, but that brings some interesting elements that already create the foundation for Drew Hunter.
The arrangement and synth reminded us of the EDM/pop period between 2008 and 2010, before dubstep went big on club nights, and electro-pop anthems were very melancholic and nostalgic.
We did feel nostalgic listening to this tune, thanks also to the very catchy chorus that Drew brings. The featuring with lostalongtheway works perfectly, bringing some subtle emo trap elements. lostalongtheway made us think a lot about Yungblud, and they definitely share a unique talent and very catchy screamy-like voice.
The right mix of pop and electronic in the production makes this tune a really catchy hit, and we wish the best to these new incredibly fresh artists.

David Mac – “Feel The Same”
David Mac is a singer based on the Gold Coast, Australia. He just released his second single called “Feel The Same”, and we were really surprised by it. Being based in one of the sunniest places in the world, we would expect this compelling dark RnB tune.
The song merges different music genres and styles, creating unique instrumentation that gives the right space for David’s performance to shine. The song has some trap-ish hit hats and different synth that resemble the ones from a more progressive house tune. It all works perfectly together.
There are many ear candies in this tune, and we loved the sudden appearance of acoustic guitars throughout the tune. David Mac‘s performance is incredibly heartfelt, and makes us feel very empathetic. A solid RnB tune that fans of early Weeknd’s releases would love.

CMFRT. – “Facelift” (Feat. Jay Coast)
“Facelift” is a solid trap release co-produced by rappers/producers Jaheem and cmfrt. based in Saint Louis, US and featuring Jay Coast. The instrumental beat presents an ethereal 808 bass paired with a slick hit hat sound that give the right space to the vocal production in the mix.
The vocal effects are used in a very creative way, through reverbs and delays, which become more present in the second half of the song. We dig a lot the sudden change in tempo that happens after almost 2 minutes of the song, giving a psychedelic turn to the track.
The overall sound design reminisces works from Travis Scott and Drake, the whole tune is very consistent and would sound very smooth next to other big names on a playlist presented by a DJ during a busy club night.

Irys – “Weirdo”
Irys is a singer/songwriter based in Berlin and her single Weirdo just came out keeping us company during our most melancholic nights. Weirdo is her first single in 2022 and just her 6th single release. She already established a solid sound that brings some dark vibes to a pop-based tune.
The songwriting reminded us of some of the darkest Billie Eilish releases paired with Charlie XCX unpredictability and vintage synth sounds. The synths indeed reminisce some obscure 80s release and the vocals are extremely catchy yet mysterious.
Berlin is a city where electronic music thrives, and this tune brings some peculiar elements of the minimal techno scene merging it with pop elements. The result is a very attractive track, full of charm and mystery.

Lorraine Bautista is an RnB singer based in Los Angeles, releasing her second single called Frontline. That’s her first single for 2022, yet she’s able to craft a really peculiar sound that merges old-school RnB with newer trap-inspired sounds.

The production is extremely well-curated and the reverb and delay applied to the vocals give an ethereal vibe that conveys an intimate performance that sounds extremely heartfelt. Perfect tune for an evening happy hour party along the beach. Lorraine Bautista is very talented and she will definitely have a lot else to say with her next releases.
YXL Ayo – “Go To Sleep”
Directly from the UK, Lincolnshire rapper YXL Ayo surprised us with his single “Go To Sleep”. Even tho his based in the UK, YXL Ayo sound and style reminisce a more global kind of sound, rather than the Grime’s scene.
YXL Ayo not only brings a very solid flow over the beat, but he also sings some very compelling melodies which are incredibly catchy and supported by a very well-curated production.
Even though the beat might sound minimal, the track is full of ear candies which makes every listen unique. Three minutes go by very fast and we cannot stop pushing the release button.
