Let’s begin our Outer Space journey.
DAX – “Searching For A Reason”
We are excited to have in this vol.7 an incredible artist with loads of experience, releasing music since 2017 and putting out over 40 singles, 1 album, 1 mixtape, and 2 EPs: we are talking about DAX, Singer, songwriter, and vocalist from Canada.
What we like about Dax is that he sends a message of hope through his music with a really high-quality refined product.
His latest release “Searching For A Reason” is an emotional hip-hop production that features an incredible flow with clever and catchy phrases, and mind-opening lyrics that will instantly let you connect with the artist. The beat is solid and features melancholic guitars and clean hip-hop drums that easily accompany Dax’s vocals, which is the focus of the song.
“Trust gets you killed, love gets you hurts, being real gets you hated so tell me what it’s worth”: that’s the main chorus of this song, and definitely worth a listen!
There is also a sick official video for this release which you can find here.
Can’t miss this out!
MARTINA – “Cloud Nine”
MARTINA is a new upcoming artist, singer, and songwriter from Italy and based in the UK, bringing to the table a fresh new sound blending a bit of trap and R&B with pleasing, intimate, and catchy vocals.
Her debut single “Cloud Nine” presents itself in a gracious way, with a cozy production that features uncluttered drums and intriguing guitars, garnished with clever and interesting ambient elements. Martina’s vocals are very delicate and intimate, polished lyrics and marvelous melodies will bring you on an unforgettable journey.
This tune is definitely a light breeze that kicks in just at the right moment, with its dreamy and melancholic vibes this is for sure the track to play to chill your mind.
Excited to see what she will come up with next, if you enjoyed this release then you should stay tuned for more!
Nemesis – “Tigress”
The next track is made by a very conscious artist, bringing very philosophical themes to the table. We are talking about Nemesis, an Hip Hop/R&B artist based in Los Angeles who recently released her third-ever track called Tigress.
That’s her second release this year, and she was already able to define a sound that she can call her own. The reference and inspiration to the old-school rap scene are evident, reminiscing music projects like Wu-Tang Clan and singers like Missy Elliot.
The beat is indeed very peculiar, with some elements that merge Boom Bap with afro-beat elements. Nemesis is able to bring some very thought-provoking themes through her lyrics, setting her apart from all the type f rap that is only interested in the Bragging-culture. That was fresh air to us, and we are incredibly curious to see what this artist is able to put out next.
CALVIN RYAN – “Lmk”
Thrilled to introduce a phenomenal hip-hop artist based in New York, USA, ready to bring his fresh sound here on SpaceSour: huge welcome to CALVIN RYAN!
Calvin has been releasing numerous singles since 2020, and his latest album aired just a month ago on Spotify including 8 tracks and some of them in collaboration with other artists.
The first track of the album is called “LMK” and we can tell you we looped it on our speakers for a while now, this is highly addictive.
This is a Hip-Hop production that mixes R&B nuance, adding the flow of Calvin here we have a unique sound that people hardly dislike.
LMK features groovy hip-hop drums, a melodic piano, and a stylish ukulele, with a minimal production but hitting the right chords this song is what we define as the perfect tune with a chill and melancholic mood with solid lyrics and incredible flow with rap bars and melodic singing.
If you enjoyed this tune then we recommend you to listen to the rest of the album, you’ll surely have a great time.
J’Moris – “Being Humble”
Just after releasing an entire album in 2022 called “Moris Better: Loveless Confessions”, J.Moris is back with a new enticing tune called “Being Humble”. Banger-alert, this track is lit, and J.Moris is one of those rappers with a voice that goes way beyond the recording.
The beat is very peculiar, relying mainly on some manipulated cellos that give that particular classical vibe to the track. The beat is enriched by some piano patterns that work perfectly as ear candies.
The track still keeps that modern turn thanks to the 808 subs and hit hat that creates the real groove on the song. J’Moris singing flawlessly on this one, is such a pleasure to the ear, distinguishing himself with a production that enhances his vocal skills rather than hides them in a heavy vocal chain.
The lyric proposes a very particular theme, “Why should we work our ass off and not enjoy the fruits of all our hard work?”. There’s a line between being humble and enjoying your life a bit too much and sometimes is very blurry.
J CRU – “Blue” (feat. Carrington & The Lil Hazy)
J CRU is a musical duo based in Los Angeles that you absolutely need to follow. This dynamic duo just released their Album called “GOAT LOVER” on July 28th, which we really suggest you look into.
Today we are featuring their tune “Blue”, which includes two features from other two incredible artists. The first is Carrington who delivers an extremely catchy melody during the chorus, mesmerizing us with her incredible tone, which might reminisce a bit of Halsey’s most chill tunes.
In the second verse, they are joined by Lil Hazy who adds some spice to the recipe making this tune one of the most exciting from the album.
That’s a tune that perfectly fits this too hot summer, adding some melancholic vibes. The afrobeat that starts the song will make your bum move following J CRU’s flow. We loved their lyrics and metrics, which set them apart from a lot of rappers out there.
J CRU is a big deal and ready to blow, make sure to follow them on Tiktok as these guys have so many ideas in mind you really cannot expect what they are going to do next.
AMY CORREA BELL – “RUN IT”
AMY CORREA BELL is here once again to share with us her incredible latest single, after being with us in our previous VOL.4 which you can find here.
she nailed it this time with a killer tune in collaboration with the producer LES LES.
The song is called “Run It” and we got astonished by the sound of this one: the style and the flow of her charming vocals of Amy make this track a rare gem also thanks to the neat beat that offer a minimal chill mood, with deep basses and pleasant rhythmic arpeggio plucks.
The track doesn’t have just a standard rhythm, it is written in triplets and this makes the pattern extremely distinctive and very pleasant to listen to, adding excitement and interest to the tune. The song gave us an incredibly mysterious vibe and brought us on a journey of discoveries in the deepest sides of our minds, with a sound that gets addictive and definitely makes you crave more.
This production is gold, sick work from this collaboration, and really looking forward to seeing what’s coming next.
LIL‘ RUBIO – “Bad All Night”
LIL‘ RUBIO is for sure a sick addition to this list of artists, with a unique and solid sound, his music will grant you a wonderful time. He’s a producer, singer, and songwriter from Vienna, Austria, with a music catalog of over 20 tracks. You can rest assured this artist is able to make your ears engaged for a fair amount of time.
His latest release “bad all night” is a nostalgic and melancholic Hip-Hop production with a hint of Pop/R&B style, with melodic vocals and high-pitched harmonies. That is the right combo that makes this track a pleasure to listen to.
This is a song of betrayals between a girl and a man, a breakup story to which many people could relate; Rubio’s talent makes this tune sound incredibly emotional bringing you on a journey of pain and relief, a dream where you can’t wake up.
A very inspiring theme, performed in a flawless way, Lil Rubio was able with his new single to merge modern emo/inspired trap elements with the old generation of RnB melodies, the ones that will bring you that cool nostalgia you did not know you were looking for.
Virgø – ”Know My Name”
VIRGØ is certainly one of the most exciting artists in the Hip-Hop scene right now, with just a few tracks released he has already shown to the public what his sound is and how magical his skills are.
One of his latest releases “Know My Name” has caught our attention with its sick sound, giving us goosebumps and leaving our souls fulfilled.
This tune is extremely particular: it has a very retro/old-school style during the verses, but it kicks in a fresh sound design and a bunch of emotions during the choruses that make this song incredibly versatile. The mix of styles is fascinating, delightful, and interesting, with a flow out of this world we are pretty sure you’ll be proud to pump this tune in your car’s speakers.
VIRGØ has a polished and solid approach to this beat, with hypnotic and gripping bars we are convinced this artist will get big soon, many people will know his name!
ORPHANBOY – “Pray4Poison”
We are very excited to introduce you to this next artist based in New Orleans. Let’s warmly welcome Orphan Boy to Outer Space. He’s a rapper and producer, and at his young age, 23 at the moment, he has been already through a lot.
His last album “Pray4Poison” was just released some weeks ago and it was inspired by Orphaboy’s downward spiral into drugs and suicidal thoughts. Luckily he’s now out of this dark period and used music as a cathartic instrument to release all his emotion during that period.
We’re glad he released this album, full of different inspirations, which reminded us a lot of early Suicide Boys’ works (they’re also from the same city) and Lil Uzi Vert more introvert releases. The single we are proposing today is “Myriad”, which we think is a great introduction to this incredible artist, the bit reminisces some of early JPEGMafia tunes, yet filled with a melody and flow that’s slightly less angry and catchier than the other tunes, which are more filled with melancholia and sometimes anger.
Orphanboy demonstrates through this release to be an extremely versatile rapper and singer, using different musical approaches yet remaining incredibly consistent with his sound.
CHASE PEREZ – “All I Do”
The next tune we are going to present is made by Chase Perez, rapper/producer based in New York. He just released an incredibly solid tune called “All I Do”.
Chase Perez knows how to create a flawless flow with the proper amount of flex. The whole track is incredibly consistent, his rhyme game reminded us a bit of an early Drake release, anyway Chase Perez is able to create something that is his own, with his peculiar vocal tone and style.
The beat hits hard and give the right space for the vocals to shine. Kick and bass slap you in the face reminding you that Chase Perez is here to leave a mark. All the ear candies in the instrumentation are on the right making the tune always enterntaining. Such a solid trap tune you shouldn’t miss.
ARIO – “Perfect” (feat. Newl1fe)
Not all the best rappers come from US, Ario is here to prove this once and for all. Rapper based in Calgary, Canada, he recently released the single called Perfect featuring Newl1fe.
Ario has been around for a long time, yet he still delivers tracks that surprise always renovating his style. Perfect is his first release in 2022, bringing a flawless flow with very peculiar metrics.
The initial string sample set the mood of the track, jumping back and forth of an octave bringing variations at the right moments. The bass synth hits very hard together with the kick in an amazing sound design curated to minimal details.
We loved how the bass design also changes based on the part of the song, becoming more ethereal when the vocals have a more uplifting meaning on the track. Such a solid release you should absolutely check.
