Space Discovery: Ro Nova
Welcome to Space guys!!
This is our new format called Space Discovery, where we pick our favourite new artists and introduce them to our Space Travellers. This includes a review of the latest artist track plus a very special interview with the artist, as for us it is really important to make also the artist speak and integrate their message on the article.
With this first post, we’re going to introduce a really special artist called Ro Nova.
Ro Nova is an incredible artist, singer and songwriter based in London.
Already set in the music industry since 2019, Ro has gained thousands of streams on Spotify, and a consistent fan base growing since then.
Her latest release is Silver, released on the last day of 2021, just weeks ago.
This is a very unique genre: a groovy electronic/pop production with polished synths and confident but chill vocals. The sound is modern and fresh, and has a kind of retro style at the same time, making the tune one of a kind.
The track starts with some fast-paced drumbeat, along with Ro’s vocal chops in the background, and some melodic synths chords.
Ro’s voice enters the track soft and calm to open the verse, with the drumbeat playing on the second part of it and synths chord to give sustain and wideness.
The track leads to the chorus right after: an extremely minimal sound made of clean acid bass and detailed drums, going along the vocal hooks and the synths that helps the chorus to gain more ambiance and deepness.
A must-listen for all of you that like groovy stuff and melodic vocal lines!
We had a very nice chat with Ro Nova, and this is the funny interview we had together to introduce her to our audience.
Congratulations on your new release! Briefly present yourself to our Space Travellers!
Thanks for having me! I’m an electro-pop artist/producer based in London. I love disco balls, synthesizers and hot sauce (cue soundtrack: theeese are a feeewww of my faaavourite things).
What’s the story behind your latest release?
My new track ‘Silver’ is about nightlife interactions – when you see someone through the crowd and feel that instant connection.
What are your plans for the future?
I’ve got a lot of unreleased material that I want the world to hear. I’m also going on a couple of tours in 2022 so this year will bring lots of shows and lots of cities!
If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?
It would have to be the 80’s. Or back a little further just to have a dance in Studio 54. I’d bring them some 00’s pop (think Shakira or Pink) but I’d probably get far too distracted by what the DJ already has on.
