Space Review: Breakfast For Dinner – “I Need Some Time To Figure Out My Life”
Welcome to Space!
Introducing today another incredible band formed by very young talents: “Breakfast For Dinner”.
This is an indie-pop band based in New York that reminds the style of the amazing Pale Waves and The 1975, with sparkling designed synths and big stage reverbs giving the track that huge 80’s/pop feeling.
These guys released 2 tracks so far this year and a few more tracks between 2019-2020.
Their latest tune is “I Need Some Time To Figure Out My Life” which was released just now, but we’ll review today their previous release “Say” released a couple of months ago.
It talks about not holding your partner from being happy and letting him/her thrive.
“Say” is artistically very well produced, which honestly felt like a rollercoaster of emotions to us: starting with a retro 80’s keyboard, a plucked rhythmic guitar, and energetic drum kit samples, the song already gives us a nostalgic but happy vibe.
Reversed fx transaction brings us to the verse where enters the angelic voice of the vocalist of the band. Warm, soft, and passionate voice, linked with vocoder lines the vocals sound huge and amazing, giving the track a unique feeling.
The verse opens up straight away to the chorus, which keeps calm on the instrumental side focusing a bit more on the vocal line.
The song gets back to the verse, which is similar to the first one, but leads this time to a powerful and emotional drop, with some electric guitars, this part was a plot twist and is our favourite part of the song.
The last chorus plays after the drop, energic and intense, taking the tune to an end right after.
This is a must-listen, an emotional tune with 80’s feelings and angelic vocals, we’re glad these guys shared with us such a gem like this.
