Space Review: For King & Country – “Relate”
Welcome to Space!
Let’s kick off the day with the incredible “For King & Country”, consisting of two brothers: Joel and Luke Smallbone, Grammy award-winning duo from Australia, these guys created a massive community gaining millions of streams on Spotify.
Very experienced artists in the music industry, these guys reached the top 10 hits and 5 Billboard Music Award nominations.
Such a pleasure for us to feature one of their latest releases: “Relate”.
This single is powerful, joyful, and encouraging: heartwarming lyrics and emotional melodies are the strength of this tune; also the quality of the production is extremely high.
The vocals are clean and crisp, they sit perfectly in the mix.
“Relate” starts with a melancholic but ambitious intro played by a Stage Piano and some ethereal background fx that add some wideness to it; the vocals start right after, soft and warm, with a subtle kick leading the rhythm.
Going to the verse we can hear the drumbeat entering the game, and we loved the samples used here: soft kick and sharp retro snare, accompanied by a fast progression of emotional chords and some beautiful vocal pads.
The drop is the part we enjoyed the most, very powerful and cheerful. It also has this kind of vintage/80s vibes that surprised us, thanks to the sound design of the bass.
The rhythm of the drop is articulated and the vocal choirs are so immersive that will let you feel like you’re lifted from the ground.
An incredible production that doesn’t go unnoticed, mixed and produced to a very high-quality standard, we think this tune is a must-listen for any ears and all music lovers.
Listen to it on our playlist of the month Galactic Expedition!
See you in the next review,
