Space Review: Luke Collins – “Tell You”
Welcome to Space!
Introducing today an extremely charismatic individual showing off some real skills: Luke Collins.
Luke is an independent singer and songwriter: with a bachelor’s degree in Viola, he started as a classical musician performing in youth orchestras. Later on, realizing he wasn’t happy with the classical music scene, he decided to spend his post-college years as an analyst investor in San Francisco.
Not being completely happy and seeking something different, Luke decided to start again with music in 2019, doing trips back to LA and having music studio sessions on the weekends with friends.
His first track “Tell You” was finally released a couple of weeks ago and it already got stuck in our head!
“Tell You” is a groovy indie-pop track featuring funky guitars, vintage keyboards, with a bit of R&B infusion of melodic kalimbas chords and astonishing vocal hooks.
A music style that reminds us of Charlie Puth and Still Woozy, the final work sounds like a top 10 billboard song, definitely something we wouldn’t expect from a very first release.
The song starts with a vintage intro, retro-style synths, and plucked guitars that lead the rhythm. Luke’s vocals come in along with a groovy drum pattern and percussions fillings, giving the tune a 70’s dance floor vibes.
The charming voice of Luke is pleasant to listen to, with enchanting vocal lines and subtle humor-driven lyrics into a flirtatious contest.
The chorus is what we call a “Hit” in the modern era: Funky vibes combined with groovy vocal and drum rhythms, an energetic and dreamy mood that will give you addictiveness for a while.
