Space Review: Preethevibes – “New Day”
Welcome to Space!
Let’s start the day with some energetic vibes listen to Preethevibes fresh tune “New Day”.
Preethevibes is a band based in New York City and formed by members PARA, KNGLVN, JUS-Q and MILIO.
The music blends perfectly multiple genres including Afrobeats, Jamaican Dancehall and Dance Music. It is easy to picture listening to this song with a heavenly background. Maybe in Ibiza, while you’re drinking a Mojito during happy hour. The song conveys some extremely positive vibes through the melody and arrangement with electronic instrumentation that sometimes reminisces work from Robin Schulz or Klangkarussell.
Even though the track makes you easily move on the dancefloor, the meaning behind the song is deeper than you think.
The music video for the song, directed by Diego Roque, definitely gives more depth to the track, implementing it with a story everybody can feel relate to.
You can watch the music video down below:
The song and music video tell the story of one’s personal struggle with alcohol abuse in the shadow of a failed relationship. In the music video, we can see JUS-Q with a VR oculus drinking some whiskey, while in the VR world he’s leaving again some great time with his ex-girlfriend in a dreamy spiral that creates an oneiric tale that blinks also to “Eyes Wide Shut” scenarios with people with masks having a great time on the dancefloor. While living again the best moments with his girlfriend, the protagonist is falling into a black hole where it’s hard to get out. The music video has multiple ways it can be interpreted based also on one’s experience. Just do a favor to yourself and watch it, trust me!!
The chorus is accompanied by vocals from singer Courtney Grace, which fits the song perfectly together with incredible JUS-Q’s falsettos. The tune evolves non-stop always keeping you entertained and introducing new elements and genres including a bridge Afrobeat inspired and trumpets. It’s an incredible journey and experience that together with the music video will make feel a rollercoaster of emotions and once the song is finished you will crave for more. Thank god there’s the repeat button.
We can’t wait to listen to more and new music from Preethevibes and you should definitely keep them on your radar.
